After introducing the Gokhale Method for good posture in this previous post, I would like to share an update on our Gokhale journey! Initially, one of my daughters who has back problems did online lessons. Then after summer her teacher Julie Johnson offered a weekend course in Schaffhausen in the beginning of October, which I decided to join together with my daughter. By that time, I had already been practicing guided by video material and the daily online exercise classes that Esther Gokhale is leading, but still the guiding hands of a good teacher are very valuable to really get the posture nuances right!

After the course, I have a much better feeling for my posture. I continue to practice regularly with the Gokhale Exercise program. In addition, I use a small free extension in the Chrome browser, PostureMinder, to remind me regularly of checking my posture while working at the computer! With my laptop, I use an external keyboard, so that I can keep the keyboard close to me as I type, and keep my shoulders back where they belong.
